[00:01:04] mean, it's like we're close to being good with tech. Like we're, I'm an elderly millennial.

[00:01:10] So you kind of grew up with it when I was in college and stuff. I could like take apart

[00:01:14] computers and put them back together. But now I have no idea what's happening. What

[00:01:17] happened to you? You could do that. Yeah, what happened? I know. I used to be even nerdier

[00:01:23] than I am now. It's shocking. That's I can't believe that. Huge nerd. I am too. It's fine.

[00:01:31] So yeah, we're excited. A lot to talk about. Let's get into it a lot to talk about. Very

[00:01:36] excited. Very excited. The season it's so close. It's palpable. I can taste it.

[00:01:42] I can taste it. I am so excited for football, man. Like I've been I've been trying to like

[00:01:48] tamp down my excitement. I've been trying to like season it'll get here when it gets here.

[00:01:54] But now like now I want to see some games. I got to check my fantasy lineups. I got to

[00:01:59] make sure you know because that's all starting tomorrow. Like we are now in the thick of

[00:02:04] it and there are no more rest days. Not at all. Yeah. So we're going to go through

[00:02:12] here's what we're going to do. We're going to go through some news and notes. Just some

[00:02:16] kind of housekeeping things, couple items about the team. Then we're going to do a little

[00:02:21] season preview just kind of talk about you know where our heads are at how we're feeling

[00:02:27] about the team going into week one kind of what our expectations are realistic or

[00:02:32] not. And then we're going to talk about the schedule. Do a little schedule breakdown

[00:02:41] and kind of go through and figure out okay like floor and ceiling record predictions. Like

[00:02:47] if everything goes well how many games do we think we could possibly win if everything

[00:02:52] goes horribly wrong? What's our floor? So we're going to talk about that and then

[00:02:58] we're going to talk about the Saints game. But before we get into all that stuff,

[00:03:01] I see we already have 16 people watching. That's amazing. I didn't think anybody

[00:03:26] some news and notes. Team captains they announced the team captains today. Did

[00:03:34] you have any thoughts on that? I thought it was interesting that they only had four.

[00:03:39] Yeah, I thought it was interesting. I mean I watched the Dave Canales press conference

[00:03:44] from today where he kind of talked about it and I had seen one earlier in the week when

[00:03:50] somebody asked me about it. He said hey we've done the voting thing but we haven't tabulated

[00:03:53] it yet. I'm going to keep that close to my vest until Wednesday. And I loved his

[00:03:58] philosophy of having one captain from each of the three phases and then kind of

[00:04:04] had like a fourth one in general. And I thought that was pretty great and I was not

[00:04:10] surprised really by the picks. How about you? Yeah, no I mean it's you know not

[00:04:16] surprised. I guess I was a little bit surprised about Sam Franklin. I'll say

[00:04:20] you know. Yeah I mean I didn't know who would be. I kind of thought it might be

[00:04:24] Jansen or something like that. Yeah I mean obviously Franklin good player you

[00:04:29] know must be must be pretty strong presence in the locker room to get a

[00:04:33] team captain. So that's great. That's awesome. Excited for him. You know the

[00:04:37] other three guys. It's not surprising. I will say kind of cool. I mean not

[00:04:44] totally unexpected but kind of cool to hear that Bryce Young was a pretty much

[00:04:48] a unanimous vote by his teammates. I mean he's the quarterback. I can only

[00:04:53] assume that well I can only assume the person that did not vote for him is

[00:04:57] himself. That's the only option. Everybody wants to vote for him. What if he

[00:05:05] did vote for himself? I bet he didn't vote for himself. I bet he didn't because

[00:05:09] here's the thing there's no reason to. He knows he's gonna win it. He knows

[00:05:12] he's gonna be the captain and I don't think it's an act like his like

[00:05:17] humbleness. I truly don't think it's an act but it would kind of tarnish

[00:05:23] that slightly if it kind of got out that he had voted for himself. I think

[00:05:26] that you know him being selfless was the way to go. Yeah matter he was gonna get

[00:05:32] it anyway. Yeah but yeah I did think the near unanimous was funny and that's

[00:05:38] the only thing I was able to come up with is that he didn't vote for

[00:05:41] himself. You know I thought it was kind of a little odd that I saw a

[00:05:49] couple comments on Twitter or X and one of the beat reporters in

[00:05:56] Dave Canales's interview today actually asked a question about Bryce being a

[00:06:03] unanimous pick for team captain and the way that the question was posed made it

[00:06:12] seem like people forgotten or that the reporter had forgotten that Bryce was a

[00:06:18] team captain last year because what he asked the question was yeah it's

[00:06:23] kind of weird and I've seen like a bunch of stuff going around on

[00:06:27] Twitter about you know Caleb Williams voted a team captain in his first year

[00:06:33] very impressive. Bo Nix you know voted a team captain in his first year pretty

[00:06:38] impressive which it is but I'm just saying hey don't forget Bryce was a

[00:06:43] team captain last year too like it's a pretty common thing for the starting

[00:06:46] quarterback to be voted a team captain but cool that it was unanimous anyway

[00:06:50] next thing Caleb on Jason we hardly knew ye he is out the door he's out the door

[00:07:01] what are your thoughts around that how'd you feel about it I think we're in

[00:07:07] trouble at that position because but I'm just saying like that's that's what it

[00:07:13] means to me you know we've heard you know coach Canales has

[00:07:18] talked up has stood up there so has Dan Morgan and they have both said we just

[00:07:25] need somebody to win it like yeah we need somebody every these guys have the

[00:07:30] ability we need somebody to produce with that ability and just to say yeah

[00:07:36] with their play that there's no other choice but that they're the starter

[00:07:39] and they still haven't found that yet and you know it was interesting

[00:07:43] because Canales did say something along the lines of like we were starting to

[00:07:48] carve out a role for him like he was having his role kind of carved out and

[00:07:52] it kind of made sense and then yeah and then he just kind of like trailed off

[00:07:57] in it didn't really kind of finish you know how it came to a resolution or

[00:08:02] what happened in the interim but it became clear he you know to the

[00:08:06] coaching staff into the front office that he wasn't the right guy and if

[00:08:09] he's not the right guy they have made it incredibly clear that they will go bring

[00:08:14] as many people in as they absolutely have to and they will bring warm body

[00:08:18] after warm body after warm body until somebody hits and that's just the way

[00:08:22] it's going to be and I like that I like yeah because there's refreshing to

[00:08:28] build it's refreshing they're trying to build a culture you know you're

[00:08:32] trying to build yeah the Panthers team in their you know to their liking

[00:08:37] and their image yeah and chase on you know he didn't he didn't step up and

[00:08:44] take it that's what they were looking for yeah that's what they want that's what

[00:08:49] they want and the guys that are still on the roster DJ Johnson at that

[00:08:54] position DJ Johnson at guliota sheriff Jamie sheriff that they brought over

[00:09:01] from the Seahawks who by the way the thought that I had when they released

[00:09:07] chase on the first thought I had was they must have been pretty impressed with

[00:09:12] sheriff coming over from Seattle like in the limited time that they've seen him

[00:09:19] on the field and practice so far since he's gotten over here you know they

[00:09:23] they that must have they must have been like okay chase on is expendable

[00:09:27] now but I just wanted one more thing I just wanted to sit like you mentioned warm

[00:09:34] bodies and you know that's kind of along the lines of something that I like I

[00:09:40] tweeted out because that's all you know there are some people that were kind of

[00:09:45] confused they're like what are we doing like what we just our weakest position

[00:09:49] on the team outside linebacker pass rusher our weakest position on the

[00:09:55] team and you just released chase on who we just signed like what are we doing I

[00:10:02] saw you know a lot of people had that reaction understandable but from my

[00:10:06] perspective you know I tweeted this I think yesterday I just said do we just

[00:10:14] want warm bodies on the team or do we want guys who are bought in and

[00:10:19] exemplifying you know the pillars of what can Allison Morgan are trying to

[00:10:23] build with the Panthers yeah personally I like the cutthroat mentality I like

[00:10:30] that hey let's trim the fat wherever necessary and let's get guys in here

[00:10:35] that look and and play and prepare the way that we want for our culture yeah

[00:10:44] you know I think that they've been upfront from the very beginning

[00:10:48] literally from the opening press conference of yeah we want guys who

[00:10:52] got a little dog in them right like they have been they have been upfront

[00:10:55] about we have a mindset of the type of person that we want to go after we do

[00:11:02] not want it we're not gonna you know we're not gonna bow to people's egos

[00:11:08] if you're a premium Donna you're not gonna fit in here right like they have

[00:11:13] been very clear that this is a workman like tight mentality yeah every single

[00:11:18] day that you go out there and you win the day right like that is their

[00:11:22] mentality and I think that they take the same approach to the roster like they

[00:11:27] need to win the roster right yeah like they are they are constantly gonna be

[00:11:32] trying to turn over every stone to find you know a hidden gym and the fact of

[00:11:39] the matter is we don't have the luxury of complacency right we don't have the

[00:11:44] luxury of saying well we just signed this guy and he's pretty good so we

[00:11:47] might as well just keep him on the team we can't do that we have to go

[00:11:51] and take risks and try to find you know those diamonds in the rough so to speak

[00:11:57] because if not then we're just gonna have a repeat of last year and then why are

[00:12:01] we going through you know all this stuff I will say it's a little dejecting

[00:12:05] and I understand it's kind of how the NFL works in terms of the practice

[00:12:07] you know squad and whatnot but it is a little dejecting to sign so many of

[00:12:14] other teams rejected players and they're gonna come and have a chance

[00:12:20] of starting on ours I so I so I think that that is a little bit of a little

[00:12:25] cold shower but you know hey it is what it is we're in the place that we are

[00:12:33] and it doesn't do us any good to hide our head in the sand pretend like we're

[00:12:37] not in you know some rough shape but yeah I've seen improvement we're going

[00:12:42] in the right direction and you know Dan Morgan and Kenalas have been

[00:12:46] incredibly consistent with what they've said right so we're going after guys

[00:12:52] we're giving every guy the opportunity to come in here and win their job every

[00:12:55] single one of them can come in here and win the job and the ones that step up

[00:12:58] and do it you're gonna stay and the ones that don't you're gonna try to have to

[00:13:02] step up somewhere else yeah well put all right so next thing I wanted to just

[00:13:55] back so that's not super encouraging Ian Thomas you know the great Ian Thomas

[00:14:01] yeah but he'll be in the ring of honor one year for sure absolutely the calf is

[00:14:09] still bothering him so they were both out held out today Wednesday's practice we

[00:14:16] signed tight in messiah Swinson from the Packers practice big man big guy 7 6 7

[00:14:27] are you kidding me 259 that is a that is a large fella surely that guy can block

[00:14:35] right I mean if that if he can't if that if he can't block no one can like what 6 7 2

[00:14:44] fit okay that's insane yeah so maybe them signing him he's sort of the I'm looking

[00:14:51] at him as sort of the not replacement but like the fill in until Ian Thomas gets

[00:14:55] back because mm-hmm what can Ian Thomas do he can block we know that yep we know

[00:15:03] so and then you have Josh Neiman yeah who is still sidelined who knows when he's

[00:15:12] gonna be getting back in in Miles Sanders who has a finger injury not sure when

[00:15:17] that popped up today it was today it was funny can Alice somebody asked him

[00:15:22] about that in this press conference and he was like yeah he's got a finger a

[00:15:26] lot of guys have fingers just like he was kind of slipping about the whole thing

[00:15:31] but it was real but it really was funny yeah it was yeah yeah so I love the

[00:15:39] story moral of the story not a ton of injuries pretty looking pretty good well

[00:15:44] and I think that I think that we owe it to the coaching staff and the front

[00:15:50] office to acknowledge this is because they didn't bring people back faster than

[00:15:56] they should have brought them back right can Alice has been talking about all

[00:16:00] offseason we're gonna be we gotta be smart with these guys it's not just

[00:16:03] about week one we have to be smart with their injuries we just we're gonna

[00:16:07] bring them back when they're ready to come back and we're not gonna

[00:16:11] jeopardize the rest of the season to have them for one or two games earlier

[00:16:16] he's been incredibly consistent about that and I think that we're seeing kind of

[00:16:20] the fruits of those decisions right now yeah no I agree one other thing before

[00:16:30] in the news and notes section here before we get to the Panthers the

[00:16:34] season preview talking about that I just want to I just want to mention

[00:16:39] Jaylen Cocher I tell me about him so listen I got behind him like I really

[00:16:48] wanted him to make the team and it kind of blew up in my face a little bit I

[00:16:53] don't be honest yeah it's fine it's it happens yeah the best of us he's on

[00:16:59] the practice squad now so that's good yes but man I you know I've been

[00:17:04] preaching about Jaylen Cocher for the last like two months all the way back into

[00:17:09] this summer you know I've been saying like man he's got to make the team you

[00:17:13] know he's younger than TMJ he can do all the same things that TMJ can do you know

[00:17:20] he's got strong hands he's a good route runner he the reason he went

[00:17:24] undrafted the main reasons he went undrafted is because he went to Holy

[00:17:29] Cross he played at Holy Cross and his 40 time yeah wasn't very good

[00:17:34] that's why he went undrafted because this was a very very deep water seeker

[00:17:38] class several teams were interested in him the Panthers happened to sign him

[00:17:42] and they signed him to a deal that was larger than a lot of late round draft

[00:17:47] picks get paid by the way and so yeah for all these reasons I was like man I

[00:17:52] really think that he's going to make the team and he did he did to be

[00:17:56] fair he did make the 53 initially and I was victory lap and I was

[00:18:03] victory lap pretty hard you were yeah I was you know and I was and I knew I knew

[00:18:10] I was like this is gonna come back to bite me in the ass yeah I did a little too

[00:18:15] excited little too excited I got a little too excited a little overzealous I

[00:18:19] should have waited and there were people that were warning me to there were

[00:18:22] people they were like hey man like he could still get get cut after waivers

[00:18:27] and I was like yeah but he's on the 53 now so I'm gonna celebrate now and anyway

[00:18:34] I jumped the gun I think I think we need to get to it yeah no good you're saying

[00:18:42] he got cut what no I was just saying he got cut you know he got cut we had we

[00:18:47] signed a bunch of guys off of waivers and so you know for a period of time I

[00:18:52] was like well shit I was completely wrong this sucks but then he got signed

[00:18:56] back to the practice squad you were totally ready yourself he's at least on

[00:19:03] the practice so it's like it was just a roller coaster it was 48 hours of a

[00:19:08] roller coaster of emotions for me with Jalen cocker yeah but I'm glad he's back

[00:19:13] I'm glad he's back on the practice squad because I really think he could be a

[00:19:17] really good player and hey right now we only have five receivers on the active

[00:19:20] roster so I would not be shocked if at some point during the season you know

[00:19:25] Jalen cocker is called up yeah I will see I've been so positive this whole episode

[00:19:32] that I have to go back to my normal like slightly cantankerous self like we were

[00:19:37] all very excited about Jalen cocker and how great he was and we didn't want him

[00:19:42] to hit the waiver wire because he was gonna get snatched up by another team

[00:19:46] and he's you know one of the like one of the best prospects and and nobody

[00:19:51] wanted our rejects and we want everybody else's rejects so I think again we just

[00:20:00] yeah it's every once in a while you get a bit of a cold shower you get the mirror

[00:20:04] held up in front of your face and you realize that maybe it's not quite

[00:20:08] always as rosy as we want to think that it is but I'm glad he's back I'm

[00:20:15] glad nobody nobody else claimed him but yeah it is a bit of dose of

[00:20:22] reality it is but I'm glad he's back like you said it is pretty sad though that

[00:20:28] none of our none of the guys that we were cutting we're getting picked up by other

[00:20:32] by their teams that's telling I mean we had we have one of the worst rosters in

[00:20:36] the NFL which is why can Alice and Morgan are being so cutthroat anyway

[00:20:46] yeah you ready okay before we do check this out a little transition for you

[00:20:51] here you go right we're moving up we're moving right that's a nice job dude I

[00:21:01] don't know if it translated on the live on the live feed but I saw it yeah it

[00:21:05] looked I think it looks great I thought I heard it nice you saw it and heard it

[00:21:10] that's all I care about all I care about is if you see it and hear it as

[00:21:13] all that matters not really that's all um all right so let's talk about it uh

[00:21:20] season preview I mean we said we're gonna do you know like an offensive MVP MVP

[00:21:26] pick and a defensive MVP pick before we do that though I mean where to begin like

[00:21:34] what are your vibes right now with the team you know after we've we finally

[00:21:40] got to see the starters in the preseason yeah we I don't think we haven't

[00:21:45] done a podcast episode since that game have we okay so we finally got to see

[00:21:50] the starters albeit against you know some backups still it's you know their

[00:21:56] professional football players they executed they went down the field

[00:21:59] Bryce looked really good you know connecting with Deontay Johnson on that

[00:22:04] all-schedule play was awesome looking it was encouraging but we go into this

[00:22:10] season you know we are not favored to win a lot of games this year

[00:22:19] understandably but I think there's reason for reason for optimism reason for

[00:22:24] hope at least in my opinion but yeah I don't know what are your general

[00:22:28] vibes we're not gonna get into record predictions right now but just how are

[00:22:32] you feeling about the team's outlook heading into week one right now I feel

[00:22:37] I feel good I feel about like we did I did last year I think in terms of you know

[00:22:47] there's a heavy dose of positivity I think that can Alice's energy is probably

[00:22:53] the most important thing that's happened this offseason in terms of what he's

[00:22:59] able to bring and I think that we would be remiss if we didn't talk about his

[00:23:06] positive energy his going out there and winning the day he like all these little

[00:23:11] like you know idioms and that kind of thing like he just has a work ethic that

[00:23:17] is unbelievable seemingly yeah and so I think that we would be remiss if we

[00:23:22] didn't acknowledge that and at least say hey that's going I think that his

[00:23:26] energy is worth two wins this season but I'm not I'm not joking when I say

[00:23:30] that I think it truly is like his approach his mindset his energy is

[00:23:34] positivity the way that you know people the players have responded I think that

[00:23:40] just like that influence is gonna is worth a couple of wins somewhere during

[00:23:45] the season and so I'm I'm positive about the foundation that were that we're

[00:23:53] starting to lay right yeah sometimes when you know like when you're building

[00:23:57] a house and you put the foundation down you can kind of see the footprint

[00:24:00] but it's really hard to visualize some of the details and some of the

[00:24:04] embellishments and right like yeah you know and I think that's kind of where we

[00:24:09] are we we know what we're seeing what the foundation is we're hearing with the

[00:24:13] front office and the coaching staff are telling us we're seeing them actually

[00:24:19] act in accordance with their words which you don't always see and so I feel

[00:24:25] really good about where we are and we're moving forward but can Alice I

[00:24:30] know I keep bringing up his press conference today but it was a very very

[00:24:33] telling one and a good one so everybody who was watching if you did not watch

[00:24:38] that it's worth 15 minutes of your time to go listen to that he covers a whole

[00:24:43] lot of these things and one of the things that he said they were one of the

[00:24:48] reporters asked about I think it was the tight end position and bring you

[00:24:51] know whether whether our 200 ones we're gonna be able to play this week or

[00:24:54] not yeah he said hey I'm not gonna bring him back sooner than they sooner than

[00:25:00] then I then they can come back right like yeah we're interested in making sure that

[00:25:04] the team has gelled around week six like that's what we're trying to do so it

[00:25:09] kind of shows me that they are they're they're not bullshitting are we a lot

[00:25:15] for life I don't know are we like there it's not just it's not just it's not just

[00:25:25] hearsay right like they're actually doing the things that they say they're going

[00:25:30] to do and their actions are behind the bush I don't know I guess it's on it you

[00:25:33] know on X you can like it's the while OS you can do whatever yeah this is

[00:25:37] Twitter in the way we're good there's no children watching I'm can we just go

[00:25:41] it's Twitter can we tried to say X it didn't sound right and you said I hated I

[00:25:47] hate it I like Twitter it's been the game by the way if there are any children

[00:25:51] watching respect but we were gonna cuss so sorry also my bad yeah no so yeah

[00:25:58] that's how I'm feeling how are you feeling about it yeah man just to piggy

[00:26:03] back off of what you said about canalis you know as we talked about it all

[00:26:07] season since we hired the dude I'm a huge believer I'm a huge believer huge

[00:26:13] fan of Dave canalis just listen I'm I myself try to be I'm a pretty positive

[00:26:22] optimistic person I try to live my life that way and I don't always succeed you

[00:26:28] know it's it's it's easier said than done sometimes so anytime I see someone

[00:26:36] like Dave canalis who you know he's been referred to as an optimist bully you

[00:26:42] know and he's he's he's right it's it's fantastic he's upbeat he's optimistic

[00:26:50] he's glass half full all those things high energy but he's also proven to be a

[00:26:58] straight shooter man like I love that too yeah in his first in his first few press

[00:27:05] conferences it was like he was like you know starry-eyed deer and headlights like

[00:27:12] oh man I can't believe I get to do this type of thing which is fine like hey

[00:27:17] live it up man he you're a head come understandable that's fantastic 32 of

[00:27:23] you hell yeah exactly but it got to a certain point where not not necessarily

[00:27:29] for me but I saw some other people kind of pointing out like hey you know this

[00:27:35] this whole you know happy-go-lucky optimist bully you know positivity thing

[00:27:41] that canalis has got going on if we start losing it's gonna rub people some

[00:27:46] people the wrong way man and I get that to an extent but he has proven over the

[00:27:54] last few weeks since training camp has been going on man yeah he answers he's

[00:28:02] a straight shooter man he answers questions straight up he tells you

[00:28:05] exactly what he's obviously not afraid to you know call a player out and give

[00:28:14] them constructive criticism he met individually and I would I would put

[00:28:20] money on on this I don't think every coach does what he did when they when

[00:28:26] they did their 53 man cut down he met with every single cutting them yeah

[00:28:30] individually I mean that's that's impressive in this amount of respect

[00:28:37] tremendous amount of respect yeah yes and that's how you that's how you earn

[00:28:44] grown-ups trust right like from a leadership perspective yeah what we want

[00:28:51] as somebody you know if from our leaders like these players want to play well

[00:28:57] they want to make the team they want to give the coaches what they're asking

[00:29:01] for they want to work their ass off right yeah so you are doing them and

[00:29:06] your team a disservice if you don't say hey we asked you to come out here

[00:29:11] and give us your best and we appreciate the fact that you did that right now

[00:29:17] it's not the right team for you let me tell you why we're making this

[00:29:20] decision right go get better at those things right like and as a as a player

[00:29:27] is it hard to hear that you're not going to make the team hell yeah it's

[00:29:31] hard to hear that you're not gonna make the team but I respect the hell out

[00:29:34] of somebody who tells me why and what I need to get better at and it's

[00:29:40] not just a no and and I the other thing that I that he said about cuts which

[00:29:46] made me respect him so much is to say the day that it gets easy to do that is the

[00:29:52] day I need to stop coaching it should be it should be hard yep it should be

[00:29:59] hard to cut those people and so when he said that that's my guy 1000% and

[00:30:06] if he's like and just from us sitting on the couch watching him talk if we get

[00:30:13] that same kind of emotion then I can't imagine what it's like to be around

[00:30:18] the guy all the time right I'm I wasn't his biggest fan when he came here

[00:30:55] you know they said hey you picked up you guys claimed four defensive backs

[00:31:02] you know are you concerned about that room and he goes not now you know we had

[00:31:08] guys in here yeah I love that she ate this Sean Jameson the Caprio Boodle you

[00:31:15] know Lamar Jackson yeah all these guys we had they we appreciate kind of like

[00:31:20] you said earlier we appreciate all the effort that they put in they showed

[00:31:25] us who they were and who they were and he didn't say this but this is facts who

[00:31:32] they were wasn't what they were looking for essentially that's not what they

[00:31:37] wanted that they were looking for someone to step up and claim just like

[00:31:42] just like with the with the outside linebacker position opposite of Jadavia

[00:31:46] and Clowney they were looking for someone opposite of JC Horn like somebody

[00:31:52] step up and take this shit you know and it didn't happen and so they brought

[00:31:58] other guys in they traded they went and got Michael Jackson sorry they went and

[00:32:07] got Michael Jackson so you know I just I just appreciate I just appreciate his

[00:32:16] I appreciate his optimist bully persona mixed with his you know ability to be

[00:32:24] just a straight shooter as well and I think if you're like you said if

[00:32:30] you're a player man you I have a hard time thinking that these guys are not

[00:32:35] fully bought in to Canalis and so to kind of yeah take a step further with

[00:32:42] the season I feel great about Dave Canalis and this coaching staff right now

[00:32:47] we haven't even seen a regular season game yet I'm cautiously optimistic about

[00:32:53] Dave Canalis and this coaching staff from a scheme perspective what we saw in

[00:33:00] that season yeah yeah and and from a scheme perspective what we saw in a

[00:33:06] preseason man was more encouraging and maybe this is like exaggerating but

[00:33:12] it felt more encouraging than anything we saw offensively last year yeah that just

[00:33:19] that one drive that the starters played in the preseason was so encouraging you

[00:33:26] know we know the two seven or less we know that that's what they've been

[00:33:29] preaching all off season but what he's allowing Bryce to do is be the natural

[00:33:36] playmaker that he is his I am convinced that he his natural playmaking instincts

[00:33:46] Bryce's Bryce young's kind of natural instincts when the play breaks down to

[00:33:53] escape the pocket the second play you know to make something happen I'm

[00:34:00] convinced that Frank Reich completely neutered him his instincts last year

[00:34:05] I don't know if you remember back when Cam Newton was here there was a period of

[00:34:11] time where and I'm trying to remember who the offensive coordinator was it might

[00:34:16] have been Rob Chudzinski it's a deep cut but there was a period of time where

[00:34:23] they were trying to turn Cam Newton into a pure pocket passer and it showed

[00:34:29] on the field he looked hesitant he wasn't getting out of the pocket and

[00:34:35] scrambling as much he was trying to just stand in the pocket like a Tom Brady

[00:34:41] and deliver from the pocket and that's just not the type of quarterback that he

[00:34:45] was and once he once we got to that Super Bowl season in 2015 kind of

[00:34:52] culminated there he was just at the height of his superpowers and but it

[00:34:56] but it's because he was playing to his strengths he was doing the things that

[00:35:01] come naturally to him and so with Bryce young no he's not Cam Newton 100% I'm

[00:35:07] not saying that he's he's not 65 260 pounds who can run over people but

[00:35:13] Bryce is a playmaker that's what he did at Alabama and so I like that can Alice

[00:35:19] is like hey man if nothing's there go use your legs get out of the pocket

[00:35:24] man go make something happen and now we actually have guys we actually have

[00:35:29] guys like Deontay Johnson who who excels at that like when he keeps when the

[00:35:37] play is kept alive by the quarterback you know they lock eyes and he kind of

[00:35:41] finds find space and is able to get open that way so I'm encouraged again

[00:35:48] cautiously optimistic encouraged by what we saw from the offense in the

[00:35:53] preseason for the most part just from a scheme perspective and I'm excited about

[00:35:59] some of these rookies too man like leggett we didn't really get to see we didn't

[00:36:04] really get to see a lot from leggett in this in this like training camp and

[00:36:09] preseason because he was hurt yeah you know good yeah I think that for him

[00:36:17] you know like it was just the timing wasn't exactly right and again it

[00:36:23] comes down to the coaches staff saying hey we're not gonna we're not gonna put

[00:36:29] guys out there before they're ready and whether that is understanding of the

[00:36:34] scheme or you know injury or whatever so we all wanted to see him but listen

[00:36:41] it's a long season we're gonna see plenty of them right like that's

[00:36:44] that's what the mindset that we that we've had to get ourselves into is right

[00:36:49] the players are gonna come back when the coaching staff and the players

[00:36:52] feel like that they're ready to come back every you know we've taught we talked

[00:36:55] earlier in the show about you know the load management that they showed

[00:37:00] throughout this offseason and training camps and all of that right that's why

[00:37:05] we only have like four people on the injury report so we'll see him he'll be

[00:37:11] here you know and we're all excited about it be a little lackluster

[00:37:17] probably it usually takes wider receivers just a little bit of time

[00:37:22] to kind of acclimate to the NFL at game speed seemingly so I think by the middle

[00:37:29] of the season we're gonna know have a better idea of what we have in him

[00:37:34] yeah I think starting I think you're probably right it's going to take a

[00:37:38] little bit of time for Ligette to really make a like a huge impact I mean he's

[00:37:42] right now he's wide receiver four yeah Deontay,

[00:37:46] Thielen, Mingo and then Ligette and then of course there's David Moore

[00:37:50] there but I do think I really do think there will be

[00:37:54] manufactured touches for him in offense starting out

[00:37:58] jet sweeps you know wide receiver screens short passes get him in space

[00:38:04] and let him make something happen that's what he's that's what he's good at but

[00:38:08] I also listen the dude is the dude is a physical

[00:38:12] freak the dude's a monster when I saw him in person at training camp I was

[00:38:17] holy shit he's huge I mean he's like my height but he outweighs me by like 40 pounds

[00:38:23] and it's all muscle it's all muscle and I'm not all muscle and I'm 40 pounds

[00:38:30] less so that says a lot about me but no he

[00:38:35] man I want to I want to see some I want to see some deep shots

[00:38:39] to Ligette too like use use him for what he's good at

[00:38:43] he's the 5050 balls like that's that's part of the reason why we drafted him

[00:41:19] such a cop out of answer but I think it's going to be Derek Brown I just yeah I know but I mean

[00:41:27] I I think that if we are able to stop the run in the way that Evro wants us to be able to

[00:41:34] then it allows the rest of the defense to do to do their thing and I think that he is going to

[00:41:40] be a massive component uh of that and so yeah he's like one of the best players on a team

[00:41:47] if not the best player you know these the best for sure whatever I didn't know how big of a

[00:41:52] homer you were wanting to be about Bryce at this point but um I would never I would never say Bryce

[00:41:57] is the best player on the team man I have had so many lunches with you pre draft and post draft

[00:42:04] when we drafted him that I just I wasn't sure how much shine was still on it for you right now

[00:42:10] um not not that much I think I I think that him I think that Derek Brown doing his job is

[00:42:17] going to be integral to the success of our defense yeah and so I think for that reason

[00:42:22] I think he's probably going to be it if you want more of a deeper cut

[00:42:28] um I think Wallace is going to make a bigger impact the season than people than people think

[00:42:35] um I think he's another one of those players that you get him to about halfway through the season

[00:42:41] and um he's gonna he's gonna have seen enough that his football instincts can take over and

[00:42:47] he's gonna he's gonna be flying around the field so yeah if my you know cop out answered uh brown

[00:42:52] non-cop out answer uh I'll take I'll take Wallace for a challenge you know no I like it I like it um

[00:42:59] I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go out on a limb here and um I'm gonna say that JC Horn is gonna

[00:43:08] have a healthy season um he's gonna play at least uh 14 to 15 games and he's gonna at

[00:43:18] he's gonna at least be a pro bowler and I think that he could end up being our defensive MVP

[00:43:25] because I mean when he's on when he's been on the field he's been excellent

[00:43:29] yeah that's just that's just the reality he's been excellent I was listening to a podcast earlier

[00:43:35] today I think it was the pff guys and um they they were talking they were doing a panthers

[00:43:42] season preview and they were talking about JC Horn and uh the guy said that like hey last year

[00:43:49] obviously JC Horn had had another injury but when he was on the field he was like the fifth or

[00:43:57] sixth uh rated cornerback in the NFL as far as his overall pff grade and I mean take that with the

[00:44:06] grain of salt you know take it take it however you want um some people there's varying opinions on

[00:44:12] on pff and the validity of it or how the how the ratings are calculated

[00:44:18] on it on the surface it's like hey that's that's pretty impressive you know he's we know that

[00:44:24] he's one when he's on the field he's one of the top to me he's one of the top five or six

[00:44:28] cornerbacks in the NFL so yeah if he's healthy this season he essentially shuts down that side of

[00:44:36] the field and if we have JC Horn for 14 15 16 games this year man it's going to make a gigantic

[00:44:45] huge difference I think for our defense yeah I think that um I think having that lockdown

[00:44:53] corner can be incredibly important you know I just I'm just I don't know I I'm just hesitant

[00:45:01] about the uh the injury issues and stuff no for sure I don't know I into but I think you know

[00:45:08] luck has not been been on his side up to this point yeah um unfortunately but I think it turns

[00:45:15] around for him I hope it does this year I hope so he deserves it he he works hard he plays

[00:45:20] hard he's a good player I just had some rough luck lately so yeah um sure um offensive offensive

[00:45:31] MVP yeah what are you thinking I'm gonna go with a kind of a bit of a deeper cut on this one

[00:45:41] and I think this is my heart instead of my head but I think Jotavion Sanders is going to be

[00:45:48] an absolute freaking beast yeah and I think that this is the opportunity type of opportunity

[00:46:00] that Ken Alice is talking about when he says go out there and win this job yeah he's gonna

[00:46:04] have the opportunity depending on you know whether uh Thomas and Trimble play uh this

[00:46:09] week or not to go out there and prove why he should be the you know um what top two

[00:46:15] number one tight end whatever and I think that if he's able to do that then there is a

[00:46:22] wave he's gonna be able to ride um at least until halfway through the season and um

[00:46:29] I think he and he and Bryce are gonna become good on field friends for sure yeah I think he's

[00:46:37] gonna kind of try he's gonna kind of feel some of the roles that we saw Adam Thiel and

[00:46:40] last year in terms of like that safety blanket type thing yeah no I think that's a good pick

[00:46:45] I mean I think he's gonna be fantastic I think he'll be tight in one on the team by like

[00:46:52] not even halfway through the season like within the first few games it's gonna be

[00:46:57] something he has the opportunity now to kind of ride that wave and to say

[00:47:00] you're gonna pride this position from my cold dead hands like yeah he has he has the

[00:47:06] opportunity to do that I hope he takes advantage of it yeah uh so for me offensive MVP for the 2024 season

[00:47:18] my uh my pick's gonna be pretty obvious I'll go I'll say I think Deontay Johnson is going to be

[00:47:30] just a massive massive help we've already seen it in training we know what to

[00:47:38] we we we've seen it in training camp we've seen it all off season we saw it in the very very brief

[00:47:44] one drive that the starters had in that first brief season game um but last year Adam Thiel and

[00:47:53] caught over 100 passes and had over a thousand yards from Bryce young and that was in

[00:48:03] possibly the most atrocious offense that we've ever seen on the field for the Panthers I

[00:48:11] not even possibly it probably was you could maybe argue back in the day with like Jimmy

[00:48:16] Jimmy Clausen you know those those years but just the the offensive scheme was so bad

[00:48:25] and Adam Thielen was was essentially the only reliable target man for Bryson so he was kind of

[00:48:32] force-fed targets I get that but my point is like if Adam Thielen can put up over a thousand

[00:48:40] yards and over 100 catches with Bryce young Deontay Johnson can do that and much much more

[00:48:47] and so I just think Deontay is going to be so huge for Bryce but

[00:48:55] it's the obvious pick here I think Bryce is going to be the offensive MVP

[00:49:01] I think he's going to have a complete bounce back this year I think there's going to be people

[00:49:07] eating crow there's going to be you see all these all these all these experts and pundits

[00:49:17] you know who who pre-draft had Bryce young oh you want the backwards hat I like it

[00:49:23] you know listen I don't have any hair so I can just I can just twirl it around

[00:49:28] you know oh that's nice and it doesn't mess anything up yeah the problem though is

[00:50:05] people have such a short memory yeah and it is easy because of Bryce's shitty season last year

[00:50:12] to say we should have taken CJ Stroud right but 90% of people of you know pundits and you know

[00:50:20] talking heads or whatever we're saying Bryce is the number one pick Bryce should be the number one

[00:50:25] pick um you know so I I'll give you the Bryce young because you gave me the Derek Brown

[00:50:33] okay you know in terms of like the obvious obvious stuff but um yeah I think you're right though

[00:50:40] I think that he is going to bounce back I think he's going to prove a lot of people wrong I think

[00:50:43] he's gonna um but I think that he is quiet enough that he's going to let his play do

[00:50:49] the talking so to speak you know oh for sure he's not you know yeah but I just to kind of

[00:50:56] further make my case here um I just think look improved we spent a shit ton of money

[00:51:05] on offensive line improved offensive line um so he should have more time improved weapons

[00:51:13] we know that it's still not you know it's it's not the it's not the Houston Texans with CJ Stroud

[00:51:21] over there I mean that dude he might have the best receiving core in the NFL now that's crazy

[00:51:35] Mingo and you know still the savvy vet and Adam Thielen and a Xavier Leguette and then

[00:51:41] you throw in Jitae Vian Sanders and at some point Jonathan Brooks and Chiba Hubbard back there

[00:51:46] it's a it's a lot better than it was the situation a lot better than it was I think like we talked about

[00:51:52] the the scheme the way that Dave Canalis is uh approaching the scheme and kind of letting Bryce

[00:51:58] catering to his strengths but letting him um pray play freely as well um novel concept right

[00:52:05] like let's let's design the offense around what what the guy does well who would have thought

[00:52:12] um all those things I just think that uh I just think that Bryce is gonna have a bounce back

[00:52:18] but I want to see him you know what I want to see more of this year is I want to see him use

[00:52:24] his legs more I think that yeah I think that last year was we're going to I think so I think

[00:52:32] he'll look for more of those you know more of those opportunities um last year let me let me uh

[00:52:41] let me share my screen here so I thought this was interesting I wanted to

[00:52:46] pull this up so can you see this okay yeah I'm gonna make it a little bit bigger

[00:52:52] here we go okay so I tweeted this the other day just like you know I really think Bryce

[00:53:01] Young's legs um and athleticism are underrated I think a lot of us feel that way um you know

[00:53:09] I think his legs can be more of a weapon uh last year he had 253 yards rushing um which put him at

[00:53:18] 11th among quarterbacks in the NFL um but and I think yeah so rush yards per game 15.8

[00:53:31] look at Lamar Jackson up there 51.3 821 rushing yards but there's there's a lot of teams out

[00:53:39] there that'd be like yeah I wouldn't mind an 800 yard rusher just for my running back

[00:53:44] seriously but yeah so Bryce uh he ran for he rushed for 253 yards and I think it was only on like 39 attempts

[00:53:54] like he only actually attempted to rush 39 times and if he can rush for 253 yards in that offense

[00:54:06] and in a situation where you know he was sacked 62 times and in a situation where I feel like his

[00:54:15] natural playmaking instincts were neutered under Frank Reich yeah they were I think it's

[00:54:21] I think it's it's realistic to expect if he had 253 last year I think we can expect him to have

[00:54:30] between 350 and 400 rushing yards this year which if he had that last year that would have

[00:54:37] that would have almost put him in the top five or six in the NFL. That's Patrick Mahomes territory.

[00:54:45] Yeah it's Patrick Mahomes even Tayson Hill, Joshua. Tayson as I say you know we know those top four

[00:54:52] guys there Lamar Jackson Justin Fields Hertz Josh Allen like we know those guys

[00:54:57] are what Bryce doesn't have the body to like he doesn't need to be taking hits but he can be smart

[00:55:03] and he has he's sneaky athletic. He's really sneaky athletic I don't think he gets enough credit.

[00:55:13] So here's the other thing and I saw this as well he had the he actually had the second best

[00:55:21] yards per carry when he decided to run among quarterbacks he had the second best yards per carry

[00:55:29] in the NFL. Now take this with a grain of salt because there's some there's some quarterbacks on

[00:55:35] here like look at this like Marcus Mario is up here like that's he shouldn't even be on this list.

[00:55:41] He only played games he only played three games but like look at some of the other

[00:55:45] quarterbacks Lamar Jackson you know Kyler Murray Sam Howell Deshaun Watson Josh Dobbs Anthony Richardson

[00:55:52] Justin Fields like when Bryce actually decided to run he was super effective. Yeah he was super

[00:55:59] effective he averaged 6.5 yards per carry so I think it's within the realm of possibility for

[00:56:05] him to rush for you know like I said between 350 and 400 yards. Yeah I'd love to see it

[00:56:13] this year as long as he's running for the right reason and not for his life.

[00:56:18] Yeah exactly so the other thing that I wanted to show I just wanted to show a couple plays here

[00:56:27] again just to just to remind us like what Bryce can actually do when he decides to pull it down

[00:56:36] and run so let's see if this works here bear with me this is not my this is not my forte here

[00:56:46] but all right so you remember this play this was against the Saints I was at this game actually

[00:56:55] this is a perfect example of okay Bryce when there's nothing there when you see a window

[00:57:03] just take off and run man there's open grass or open turf in this situation since David Tepper won't

[00:57:11] put grass at Bank of America Stadium. So let's watch this this is I thought this was just a

[00:57:17] great job horrible snap but look like wide open then he juke's the guy I mean how many yards did

[00:57:25] he just pick up like 30 on that rush yeah I mean it was wide open I think it's I think it's because

[00:57:33] I think it's because guys aren't expecting him to run but I just think he needs to do it more

[00:57:40] and there's another play yeah I mean I'd love to see him run a little bit more as well like I said

[00:57:46] but for the right reasons you know for the right if there's an opportunity go and you

[00:57:50] know getting outside of the pocket letting him throw on the run is kind of his whole thing so

[00:57:54] right um you know I think we're gonna see a lot of that I think that uh Ken Alice understands

[00:57:58] that a lot more than what we saw from Reich last year so yeah I expect you know better performance

[00:58:04] in that regard right and I agree 100% and just to to the point about like I feel like he's just

[00:58:12] underrated athletically he's not a burner he's not he's you know he's he doesn't run as

[00:58:17] fast as Kyler Murray we know that but he's sneaky athletic here's an example yeah this is when he put

[00:58:24] here's the saints we're playing the saints this coming Sunday Demario Davis he put him on skates

[00:58:29] and watch this play okay so gets a snap okay nothing there sees the window whoop I mean

[00:58:41] I hope we see it from the other angle because the other angle is even better

[00:58:47] okay we won't see it but just there's examples there were examples all throughout last season of this

[00:58:54] yeah and so you know that's I'll get off my soapbox about Bryce young running more I just really think

[00:59:01] that it could be a lot bigger part yeah of this offense um and uh yeah so to wrap up uh

[00:59:10] it's a it's the it's like a you know a boring pick for offensive MVP that's all right but I really think

[00:59:18] I really think he's gonna bounce back reality yeah I think it's reality I think you're good well

[00:59:22] yeah it's it's if we are if our offense is improved and Deontay Johnson is having a good season

[00:59:29] and you know Adam Thielen's doing his thing and Jonathan Mingo's looking better and all that

[00:59:33] stuff well then Bryce is probably gonna look pretty good too that's just the reality yeah it

[00:59:39] is um all right anything else before we move to I think the next thing we're gonna look at

[00:59:46] let's do a little schedule yeah we're gonna do a little schedule breakdown um anything else on

[00:59:51] Bryce or just kind of the season outlook from your perspective I think we're I think I think

[00:59:57] that as long as we're approaching things with cautious optimism and recognizing that the end

[01:00:08] disappointed I think I think that if we have correct expectations then we will come away from week one

[01:04:35] what do you see happen week two home opener uh I think it's gonna be a little bit of an

[01:08:04] being being a couple of uh rookie tight ends that are that are gonna be interesting and have

[01:08:10] really positive things ahead um even have done show in that game I don't know I just think it's

[01:34:34] first place but what I am saying is that if we win eight or nine games we could be talking about

[01:34:39] winning the NFC south and from a worst to first perspective that's more so what I'm talking about

[01:34:46] is like it's not out of the realm of possibility well but to be fair a large component of that is

[01:34:53] the the reality of the division that we're in but yeah I think we're in the exact same place

[01:35:00] because if like I said if we lose to Tampa Bay and we lose to Atlanta to end the year then we will

[01:35:22] more so you know like in terms of like we could do that I think that the ceiling for me is eight wins

[01:36:59] we do but I I truly believe that there's just one more in there that we're gonna be able to get

[01:37:03] I think that the the cards are gonna fall our way yeah um on one more of these um

[01:37:10] but I would be just as fine you know comfortable saying the four is the floor as well you know

[01:37:14] what I mean I think that yeah to one of the Tampa Bay's um you know the one of the one of the

[01:37:21] division games we could easily lose and drop us down to four wins um but yeah but again

[01:37:30] they're not building this for week one of this season right we're looking you know three seasons out

[01:37:36] we're gonna do everything that we can over the next uh three or four weeks to um take advantage

[01:37:41] of our waiver wire position and um take all of the rejects that we can find and uh hopefully

[01:37:49] it helps our team but yeah I think I think we can do it all right that was we were like

[01:37:58] you said we were amazingly like on the same page oddly on the same oddly on the same page

[01:38:05] very strange weird it's kind of weird um all right anything else on that section we're gonna

[01:38:11] just briefly talk about the saints and then we're gonna get out of here let's do it I'm good okay

[01:38:25] third time's the charm all right so the saints saints game plan um coming up this sunday

[01:38:32] we've already talked about it we both think panthers are gonna win this game um anything

[01:38:46] um yeah I think that we are um it's gonna be great to see more of canales's

[01:38:56] yes plans yeah so I think that the scheme is one thing again we've talked about it I'm not a nexus

[01:39:01] and those guy not my strength I'm the willy and the joes right but like but I think that that's

[01:39:08] it's the willies and the joes that get us those two extra wins that I was talking about earlier

[01:39:13] uh and I think that it's going to be interesting to see more of

[01:39:20] how the game unfolds and the adjustments and the changes that we're gonna make

[01:39:24] kind of within position groups I mean very excited to see our running backs

[01:39:29] I'm very excited to see how the offensive line opens up holes I can't wait to to have

[01:39:37] you know chuba and um uh sanders and black shear running behind uh icky I think that you know we're

[01:39:45] gonna we're just gonna do a good job playing to our teams strengths and playing within ourselves

[01:39:52] again it's an opportunity to come out there get game like real game reps uh real game speed

[01:40:02] um and I think that if we can control the ground game on both sides of the ball yeah then it's

[01:40:12] we we can come out with a with a win you know camere is not what he used to be um he's still an

[01:40:18] an excellent runner but he's not the uh camero volt um or maybe he is the camero volt uh

[01:40:26] but just from an age perspective but I think that we can um I think we can we can win that

[01:40:32] and I'm interested to see horn on a lobby and see uh you know how how that match up is what about you

[01:40:41] yeah I'm excited to see this is a huge opportunity it's a huge test for this team to start out

[01:40:48] with the division game kind of tough uh thank you NFL um but I think I think can Alice and then

[01:40:55] the and the guys are gonna look at it as a as a challenge and an an elitmus test like hey

[01:41:02] we're starting out you know our first game of the season is extremely important they're all important

[01:41:08] but it's a division game just like uh uh just like last year when we started out in Atlanta

[01:41:16] um so the Saints have a good defense you know they have they have a good defense so if we

[01:41:23] can come out in the first game of the season and execute and you know can Alice's scheme is

[01:41:29] looking pretty good and Bryce is playing well and you know we're scoring points that's a great sign

[01:41:36] that we can take into uh week two and then on into the rest of the season so I'm very very

[01:41:43] what do you think the score is the score I was thinking about this earlier um

[01:41:49] I think uh I think we're gonna score three touchdowns and throw a field goal in there

[01:41:58] so I think we're gonna have 24 and uh I think the Saints are gonna score three touchdowns as well

[01:42:07] I think it's gonna be 24 to 21 okay I'll score Panthers 24 I'm thinking 17 13 Panthers

[01:42:15] oh so lower scoring okay I think it's gonna be a lower scoring game I think the strength of

[01:42:20] both of these teams is the defense yeah and um yeah I I see uh I see 17 13 okay I I think Chuba

[01:42:29] is gonna run one in I think Chuba is gonna have a rushing touchdown we're gonna get

[01:42:33] into the red zone and Chuba is gonna run in um get one start off the season I think Bryce

[01:42:39] is gonna throw two touchdown passes um and I also think he's gonna throw a pick

[01:42:47] so I think he's gonna have two touchdowns and an interception and um I'm gonna go with

[01:42:55] just under 300 yards like 270 275 somewhere in there um I think he's gonna have a pretty good game

[01:43:04] and I think the offense is gonna play pretty well but I think he's gonna have a pretty good game

[01:43:08] I think that um I think uh Jotavion Sanders is gonna catch a touchdown

[01:43:15] ooh that would be not I'll be so exciting yeah I think that he's gonna catch a touchdown

[01:43:21] and I think that we're gonna Chuba's gonna Chuba's gonna run behind icky and uh and score

[01:43:26] score another one we'll get a field goal something like that um but yeah I think

[01:43:32] I don't know I you know what I think can Alice I think uh I think Miles Sanders is gonna

[01:43:37] vulture the touchdown from uh from Chuba so but I do think I think I think it's gonna be 17-13

[01:43:44] I think we're gonna have a lot of good things to talk about I think that we're gonna have

[01:43:49] a better insight into where our where our gaps are where our where are really you know

[01:43:55] where we really need just to short up I think some of that's gonna show up um you know in

[01:44:00] a lack of pressure on on the quarterback um and we're not able to quite get through so

[01:44:06] uh I don't know I think I think it's gonna be uh what I expect is we're gonna go out there we're

[01:44:12] gonna be able to move the ball we're gonna be able to execute some stuff uh our defense is

[01:44:16] gonna look good yeah have a turnover you know get a turnover too um and um I think I think

[01:44:25] we're gonna have both positive things to talk about and I think we're gonna have some some

[01:44:30] areas of need and worry yeah yeah I think um I tend to attend to lean that way of what you said

[01:44:39] of the um you know struggling maybe to get pressure um as a theme this season with the

[01:44:46] Panthers because of our we know the issues we have outside linebacker but I don't know in this

[01:44:52] game particularly the like I mentioned earlier man the Saints uh they have three new starters on

[01:45:00] the offensive line um and they're so uh they're 2022 first rounder Trevor Penning he apparently

[01:45:10] moved from left tackle to right tackle is it I don't know I don't know all the reasoning behind

[01:45:17] it I know they drafted another tackle in the first round this year Fuwaga, Tia Lisi Fuwaga um I think

[01:45:26] from Oregon State if I remember but anyway their their offensive line there's some questions there

[01:45:33] um so I think between Derek Brown and JV and Clowney and hey maybe Ekuliotta can make an impact

[01:45:40] maybe DJ Johnson does you know steps up and does something I think we I think we can get to

[01:45:45] Derek Carr a few times maybe maybe not sack him multiple times but at least get some pressure on him

[01:45:52] um maybe not though it wouldn't be shocking if if we struggled to get to the quarterback knowing

[01:45:58] our issues that we have and I think we're gonna establish on offense we're gonna we're gonna run

[01:46:03] the hell out of the ball Dave Kenos, Tuba Hubbard and Miles Sands. He's told us that's what's

[01:46:09] gonna happen I mean he's like yeah that's what's gonna happen we're gonna pound the rock

[01:46:13] we're gonna pound the rock um run it down their throats try to establish the run game

[01:46:19] even if it's not working he's still gonna try to run the ball yeah because that's what

[01:46:25] that's what he wants to do with his offense so I think Deontay Johnson will have a pretty good

[01:46:30] showing um and yeah like we said I think we come out with the W my prediction once more

[01:46:36] was 24 to 21 Panthers yours was what 17 13 17 13 so a little bit lower schooling
